The founding of Build For Humanity Development Group was inspired by a critical gap I observed while conducting agricultural economics research at Tuskegee University. Although many farmers possessed the knowledge and capacity to grow quality products, I noticed that very few were equipped with the infrastructure needed to scale into emerging markets. Limited access to cold chain systems, logistics support, distribution networks, and retail procurement channels often prevented producers from reaching larger commercial opportunities and achieving long-term sustainability.
That realization sparked a deeper mission: to help build the systems, partnerships, and market pathways necessary for underserved growers and agricultural communities to participate competitively in modern food economies.
Yasmeen Salaam is an Agricultural Development Strategist and community development advocate focused on building resilient food ecosystems across underserved and emerging markets.
With a background in demand planning, agricultural economics, wholesale distribution, and supply chain strategy, her work bridges agriculture, infrastructure, logistics, and economic development.
Her work through Build For Humanity Development Group centers on advancing food sovereignty, supporting culturally relevant agricultural products, and creating scalable partnerships between growers, governments, hospitality sectors, and retail markets.
She is especially passionate about helping communities reduce import dependency through climate-smart agriculture, cooperative development, and modern supply chain infrastructure.
